Vets in Alanya by area: what each neighbourhood has
Alanya is a strip that takes more than half an hour to cross. Mahmutlar has eight listings while Kestel has one; Demirtaş has a clinic open at night, Konaklı does not. Area by area.
Thinking of Alanya as one place is misleading. The district runs east to west and getting from one end to the other can take more than half an hour. That makes "the nearest clinic" a more important question than "the best clinic" in an emergency.
The directory currently lists 41 clinics and pet shops. They are not spread evenly.
Mahmutlar — the busiest area
With eight listings this is the district's densest area, which is directly related to it having the largest international population; several clinics state that they work in Russian and English. Most are gathered along Atatürk Avenue and Barbaros Avenue, so there is more than one option within walking distance of the centre.
The real gap here is after closing time: no listing in Mahmutlar reports being open around the clock. If something happens at night you have to head for the centre or eastwards.
Central Alanya — most choice, heaviest traffic
About a third of the listings are in the centre. Variety is highest here, and one animal hospital reporting round-the-clock opening is in this area. In summer, though, factor in central traffic — there are hours when the map says ten minutes and the drive takes half an hour.
Oba and Kestel — close to the centre, fewer options
Oba has six listings, one of which reports being open around the clock. Kestel has only one; if you live in Kestel you are effectively choosing between Oba and the centre as well, since the distance is short.
Demirtaş and Kargıcak — the eastern end
The east of the district has the lowest density of clinics but the best night coverage. Demirtaş has three listings and one of them is open 24 hours, seven days a week — as you head towards Gazipaşa this becomes the nearest night option. Kargıcak has two listings.
Konaklı and Avsallar — the western end
In the west, Konaklı has five listings and Avsallar two. No listing here reports round-the-clock opening; on top of that, some clinics in Konaklı have never published their hours on Google, so they do not appear in the "open now" filter. Calling before you set off matters more here than anywhere else in the district.
What this means in practice
- For routine work (vaccination, check-ups, neutering) the options in your own area are enough; choose on rating and number of reviews.
- At night and in emergencies plan on leaving your area. The number of listings reporting round-the-clock opening across the district is in single figures.
- If you are at the western end (Konaklı, Avsallar), ask your regular clinic about night cover in advance — you do not want to find out later.
- Use the area tags in the filter bar to narrow the list down.
The distribution and opening hours are compiled from businesses' public listings and can change. The directory is updated as new clinics open.
